Amiirah is a dedicated environmentalist and academic with a diverse background in sustainability and climate justice. Holding a position as a lecturer and program coordinator at a university, she leverages her extensive education and experience to drive impactful initiatives. Amiirah has represented Mauritius and civil society organizations at numerous international climate events, including those organized by the African Union. She is also the Vice President of the African Network for Policy Research and Advocacy for Sustainability (ANPRAS), spearheading efforts for Earth Hour, Earth Day Network, and Let’s Do It Mauritius. A multilingual advocate fluent in seven languages, Amiirah’s commitment to environmental causes is further demonstrated through her participation in the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice, where she has emerged as a prominent voice for climate action and sustainability in the SADC region.
