About
Dr. B.S. Negi is working as Faculty Member, Rural Development in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, INDIA. He did his post-Graduation (2003), M. Phil (2005) & Ph. D in Public Administration (2008) from the H.P. University, Shimla. He has completed Post Graduate Diploma in Geo-Spatial Technology Application in Rural Development (PGGARD), NIRDPR, 2020-21 through correspondence. He is pursuing master course in Corporate Social Responsibility (MACSR) from IGNOU. He joined the Institute of Integrated Himalayan Studies (UGC Centre of Excellence) in 2005 as Project Fellow, later as Project Officer in 2009 and after the upgradation of same institute as Department of Interdisciplinary and started teaching assignments to teach the MBA-Rural Development (in 2013), supervising M. Phil – Rural Development (2018-19) and Ph. D (2019). Apart from his core responsibility at H.P. University as Faculty Member, Dr. Negi working as an associate editor of Himachal Pradesh University Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, coordinator IIRS-ORP Network Institute. He was awarded H.P. University Junior Research Fellowship in 2004. Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) awarded associateship in March 2022 (First Spell) & March 2023 (Second Spell). Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun awarded appreciated in 2018 & 2020 for discharging the responsibility of coordinator IIRS-Outreach Programmes Network Institute. His area of research and interest are Good Governance, Rural Development and Local Self Government. He has supervised around 30 PG dissertations, 2 M. Phil and guiding 2 Ph.D. candidates. He has published 26 research papers in peer reviewed and UGC care listed Journals and published 5 books and some news articles. Dr. Negi has attended more than 100 training programme / summer school / winter school / autumn school / research methodology course / orientation programme etc. offline and online from reputed institutes like ICSSR, DAAD, GIZ, HBF, IIPA, NIRDPR, IGNOU, NCRI, UNITAR-CIFAL, IPSA, AARDO, IIRS, ISI, Lokniti, Doon University, NITTTR, HIPA & SIRD etc. He is member of many professional bodies such as Indian Adult Education Association (IAEA), Indian Association of Social Science & Health (IASSH), Indian Political Science Association (IPSA), Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS), Association of Indian Political Economic Association (AIPEA), Association of Professional Social Work and Development Practitioners (APSWDP), People for Responsible Governance (PeRGo), Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti (HGVS) and GFSRD.
