About Us

The Global Centre for Indigenous People (GCIP) is born out of the pressing need to protect the rights, cultures, and well-being of indigenous communities around the world. Indigenous populations often face marginalization, discrimination, and loss of their traditional lands and cultures. There’s an urgent requirement to address these challenges and support the self-determination and sustainable development of indigenous peoples.

Mission
The mission of GCIP is to advocate for the rights and interests of indigenous communities, while preserving their cultural heritage and traditional knowledge. The center aims to be a catalyst for positive change, fostering partnerships and collaborations that empower indigenous peoples to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Vision
GCIP envisions a world where indigenous peoples’ rights, cultures, and identities are respected and upheld. The center strives to be a global hub for indigenous issues, facilitating dialogue, education, and actions that promote their rights, autonomy, and well-being.

Objectives
•   Rights Advocacy: GCIP focuses on advocating for the recognition and protection of indigenous peoples’ rights, including their rights to land, culture, language, and self-governance.
•   Cultural Preservation: The center emphasizes the preservation of indigenous cultures, languages, and traditional practices, ensuring that these invaluable aspects of identity are passed down to future generations.
•   Land and Resource Protection: GCIP supports efforts to safeguard indigenous lands, territories, and resources from encroachment, exploitation, and environmental degradation.
•   Empowerment: The center seeks to empower indigenous communities by providing them with tools, resources, and opportunities for self-determination, sustainable development, and capacity-building.
