About
My self Dr. Anita Jain, Head, Department of Botany, Vidya Bhawan Rural Institute, Udaipur is an active researcher pursuing research in the field of Ethnobotany, Plant Taxonomy and Assessment of Biodiversity since last 25 years. She completed her Ph.D. in 2000 under the supervision of Dr. S.S. Katewa, Ex.Prof. & Head, Dept. of Botany, MLSU, Udaipur. She is engaged in Assessment and Conservation of Biodiversity, inventorization, documentation and validation of folk wisdom of tribals and rural communities of Rajasthan. She prepared encyclopaedia on Ethnomedicinal and Ethnoveterinary knowledge of tribals of Rajasthan. She also prepared ‘Bibliography of Ethnobotany of India’ in 2016. She is NABET approved ‘A’ grade Functional Area Expert in EB and Soil conservation. Recently she visited Denmark as a Part of Indian delegation under the Green strategic Partnership between the govt. of India and Govt. of Denmark as Biodiversity expert for the project Rejuvenation of Gumaniya Wala-Nala” and development of green space in urban area. She give consultancy to Forest Department, IWRM, Udaipur, and several private companies such as Hindustan Zinc, JK cement, Birla cement, Rajasthan to prepare conservation plan of biodiversity and development program for the upliftmen/livelihood options of tribal and rural people of Rajasthan. She guided students to complete their doctorate degree. She delivered her research work in front of science fraternity in several international and national conferences, symposia, and seminars. She is invited as resources person in various training programs. Dr. Jain has published 4 books & chapters both in reference as well as text books and published more than 50 research papers in various national and international Journals in her credit. Dr. Jain is recipient of several awards & medals -Young Scientist award in 2002, Dr. Vishwnathan Mudgal medal 2010, Dr. D.C. Pal medal 2012 and NESA “Scientist of the year award -2020”. She successfully completed several research projects funded by MoEF, CSIR, DST and Institute of Ethnobiology, Gwalior, Municipality of Aahrus, Denmark. From beginning Dr. Jain engaged in several academic and extension activities delivered expert and extension lectures on various fora to create awareness for the promotion and conservation of TK, traditional practices and biodiversity to all the category of stake holders including students, farmers, medicine men, tribals and rural people, academician, scientist etc.
