Dr. Kanchan Kumar Bhowmik completed his Honours’ Graduate & Master Degree in Agriculture from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (B.C.K.V) and his research leading to Ph.D on fertilizer management at Rural Development Centre, IIT, Kharagpur. He received National Award (Rank 88 in West Bengal in West Bengal Board of Secondary Education), All India Science Talent Search Award, Achievement-cum-Diagnostic Awards in Mathematics as well as National Fellowship from I.C.A.R. He was also awarded by the then Governor, Honble Sri Viren J. Shah, Govt. of W.B; Hon
ble Sri Somnath Chatterjee, the then Speaker of Loksava for his remarkable works. He was also selected for Research Work at Massey University, New Zealand. He published several research papers in national and international journals and written many scientific articles in different books and periodicals. He served as Asst. Director in Loka Kalyan Parishad (Panchayat Raj Research Centre) for two years. Presently he is working as State Project Manager (Livelihoods) under West Bengal Rural Livelihoods Mission, Govt. of W.B after long term service as an Agriculture Officer at West Bengal Comprehensive Area Development Corporation, Govt. of W.B for extension of different agricultural technologies to rural communities for upliftment of the rural economy. He is also associated with many rural development Institutions i.e R.K. Mission, CAPART, MANAGE, ICAR, WBSCVE &T, FOSET, NIRD, SIPRD, BOPT under MORD, Govt. of India. He is the pioneer to introduce SRI, SWI, SMI (Maize & Mustard), TPS & ZERO BUDGETED CULTIVATION and T & D pig rearing in Rural Development Sectors of W.B.
